Picture: View from 12th row at the opening day of the brand spanking new Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO. (I think I see McDan in the upper lefthand corner baking in the sun...). Season tickets here would ROCK! Red leather cushy seats. In the shade?!! This beats bleacher butt for sure. Guess I have to work harder for that slavedriver of a boss 'o mine..

Happiness is working for yourself By LIZ HULL, Daily Mail
"The job may be long on hours and short on pay. But working for yourself will make you much happier than those employed by others, according to research. People who run their own businesses have such flexibility and independence that they enjoy far greater job satisfaction, experts claim. The self-employed work longer hours for lower wages than their wage-slave counterparts."
This article is from an English site, so maybe that "American Dream" is really more global? All I know is that it's noon and I'm still at the house. I don't think my boss would appreciate that... And it's convertible weather, so don't go looking for me to roll into the office until after dark thirty!
Funny thing is, I was talking to Mom about this very subject last night. Poor Mom. I kept her up until almost 1 a.m. Hadn't seen her in a week and we had to catch up!
Remember: Folks who don't want to worry about running a company when they go home at night might be happy, too.
I think the secret to job satisfaction is knowing who you are and what makes you tick. Once you know that, then it's all a matter of doing what you need to do.
I have friends who are "wage slaves" at some pretty cool companies with access to some pretty amazing resources, so I don't know if they would want to be captain of their own ship. Sometimes I wish I had access to 100 terrabytes of ecommerce data to play with (hint hint!), or heck, even twiddling with the knobs on the Google algo might be fun from time to time.
In any case, I guess if you want to be self-employed and you're NOT, you'd better get to work, so stop reading my blog and go sell something. The rest of you take the day off...
Somewhere in Rural Mississippi (probably driving around)
