My buddy, Mr. Mike, can capture the revenue amounts from a Yahoo! Store and push the data (in some secret, mystical Jedi master method) to Google Analytics where you can learn all kinds of stuff about how to make more with your Yahoo! Store. And GA's free, dude!
And now he has a free one hour Yahoo! Store + Google Analytics webinar. Put this one on your calendars, folks. NOT TO BE MISSED! Tuesday, October 24, 4:00pm ET or Tuesday, November 7, 4:00pm ET. Sign up here: http://www.roirevolution.com/yahoo/.

Hey! Chilling at Starbucks in Cordova, TN, on the road and decided to drop a quick post about a cool, free thing you can do in about 10 minutes that will help your SEO efforts by consolidating your link popularity for your Yahoo Store.
BACKGROUND: (skip down to ACTION STEPS if you don't care about the "why" part).
One of the things that drives me insane about Yahoo! Stores is the "multiple URLS pointing to the same content" problem. I cover this in somewhere in my Yahoo Store DUMMIES book.
Honestly, I can't ever remember what page something is on, or even what chapter, so I use the AMAZON "Search Inside This Book" feature all the time. LINK: 301's
To be fair, Yahoo did a great job with the 301 redirect of all the Yahoo URLS, (see Yahoo Store Domain Redirect Setting in Paul Boisvert's incredibly helpful help files)...
<rob's rant>
Even if you use this cool 301 redirect for your store URLS, there are still multiple URLS pointing to the same content and I bitch about this all the time: YAHOO NEEDS TO FIX THIS IF Y!SB EVER WANTS PROFESSIONAL SEOs TO NOT THINK OF YAHOO! STORES AS A SECOND RATE STORE DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM.
</rob's rant>
The worst example of this multiple URL problem (and there are others) is the Yahoo Store issue with WWW / NON-WWW URLs. ACK!
DUPLICATE CONTENT PROBLEM -- For example, links to WWW URLS like http://www.quiltblockparty.com/ and links to NON-WWW URLS, like http://quiltblockparty.com, lead spiders to the same content on your store under two different URLs. The same content gets indexed two different ways and it looks like you have the same content in two separate places, which is the definition of duplicate content.
SPLIT LINK POPULARITY PROBLEM -- Even worse, your link popularity gets split up between the NON-WWW and the WWW so your site looks like two 4-foot midgets to Google instead of one huge Shaq-sized Web site.
Enter Google Webmaster Tools (formerly Google SiteMaps)!
Back in June, Google and Yahoo! partnered to make Yahoo! Stores compatible with Google Sitemaps . <<< this link is to a good blog post about SITEMAPS by my Y!buddy, Duncan Shen...
ACTION STEPS:
Turn on SiteMaps in your Yahoo! Store Manager. Log into your STORE MANAGER and click on the SEARCH ENGINES link in the lower left corner and scroll down.
Set up a Google Account (use your Gmail or Adwords login) and register your domain with Google Sitemaps.
HERE'S THE IMPORTANT PART: Set the Preferred Domain in Google Webmaster Tools to the WWW version of your site (if that's where all your content is).
According to Google's Matt Cutts and Vanessa from the Webmaster Tools team, Google will only show your URLs with the WWW and all of your link popularity will consolidate to the WWW version of your store, no matter who links to what version.
VERY COOL! And now it's time for another Iced Mocha.

Hey, Jimmy! Take a look at this:
Link: SLI Systems - Products.
…For your website or on-line store:
Search products for companies whose customers are searching their website or online store.
Site Search
SLI SYSTEMS has a Yahoo! Store friendly super-search product that I swear I'm gonna try tomorrow! I saw them at SES in San Jose and their search product rocks! It's smart! It keeps up with what customers search for and shows related items as well as other search suggestions.
See Search for Warrior Hockey Stick on Hockey Monkey , a Yahoo! Store I found doing some research on top-end Y!Stores...
Rob
PS Their search results pages are spiderable and show up in Google, but they use the same META data which is kinda sad.

Link: DigiHack - Digital Photography projects: Macro Light Box.
In macro photography even shadow less lighting is important to get good quality pictures. When dealing with shiny metallic objects such as jewelry, completely even lighting is absolutely critical for the photographer to capture the subtle color differences in reflective metal.
Thought some of you might like this if something like Litestage doesn't do it for you even though I think it's the ultimate lighting solution for online store product photography. I gush! -- Rob

Several people have asked me how I'm doing product photos. Here's my set-up:
I'm using Litestage for taking all my product Yahoo! Store product images.
Litestage is expensive. It comes in a big ole box and there's "some assembly required." It's just a big plastic box w/ frosted glass over some tungsten lightbulbs. When you start to use it, man, you save HOURS upon hours.
Are you mechanically inclined? You could probably build something. Lightstage works great, is very simple to use and well-made, and you can upgrade to the super-duper version from tyhe $1300 version when you want to. Mine was $100 to ship to Mississippi from NYC.
I just turn on three switches and throw my product in there and start shooting. I can get a pretty good product picture in less than a minute where my old set-up used to take me almost an hour to get my nest made. I probably spend more time now on composition and lighting, but it helps get some better photos knocked out. -- Rob

Tool to build JavaScript to add RSS feeds to your Yahoo! Store (or the officially known: Yahoo! Small Business Yahoo! Web Hosting's Merchant Solutions)
While this won't really help with search engine optimization for Yahoo! Stores, adding headlines to a news source or other content via RSS is a cool way to make your site more current.
For example, here are the headlines from WebmasterWorld.com:
