Took awhile for me to come up with a new way to filter my GOOGLE adwords.
After an ad runs for a loooooooong while, cull the losers. Take everything that has a LIFETIME cost/conversion of more than $x (I used $25) and nuke those.
Then take a look at everything where the LIFETIME spend is more than $x w/ no conversions and nuke those. I use $10, so it's like picking up $10 bills.
This may be rudimentary, but I did it on my affiliate site tonight for 10,000+ keywords and it took about an hour, and I figured I'll save $5,679.40 over the next year on words that converted, but at too high a price. I'll also save $8,234.70
on words I spent more than $10 on but that didn't convert.
To find these words, I run a report for ALL TIME, with the fields: keyword, status, conversions, cost, and cost/conversion.
